GFTBRA partnered with Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest on a road to trail conversion project last week near Harley Creek / Neihart. USFS provided the planning, engineering, environmental studies, culverts, and personnel to make the project a possibility. GFTBRA applied for the grants to help fund the mechanized portion of the project. This grant allowed GFTBRA to hire a couple different contractors with excavators, dozers, and the skills to get the most amount of work accomplished in the least amount of time. These type projects typically take years to accomplish to go from the initial thought phase all the way through the completed phase. These type projects can only be accomplished through the various people, agencies, grants, and local clubs working together towards a common goal.
