General trails update. July 1st – gorgeous day to go riding. Picture perfect weather with miles of visibility. Video & photo from Pilgrim Creek today.
Most of the trails that opened in June or earlier have been reported as mostly clear. Haven’t heard a report about all the way to the top of Baldy yet.
Deep Creek trails opened today and most were pre-cleared by GFTBRA trail crew through an early-access permit with USFS.
Balsinger reported clear a few days ago.
Island Park / Calf Creek / Cabin Creek opened today also. Unless someone decided to clear it on opening day, I’m guessing there will be downed trees and other obstacles to clear.
Some comments received from other riders:
- The pioneer trail still is blocked by snow in 1 small spot. We cleared that one and Rhoda lake this weekend.
- Bender creek has two big trees down.
- Top of snow creek still has A LOT of snow. Everything from arch trail up to baldy was great riding as of Friday
