Now hiring for the 2026 season!

Now hiring full-time seasonal workers at $35 per hour!  Our paid trail maintenance crew has openings for this upcoming season.  The trail clearing seasonal work typically begins late May and runs through the end of September.

The crew typically works four 10 hour days per week for a total of around 40 hours per week.  Typically the work days fall on weekdays, so most weekends are off.  Most of our trail clearing focus is on singletrack and 50” public trails throughout the Little Belt Mtns, but may also include Highwood Mtns, Castle Mtns, and other areas as needed.  Crew members usually carpool to sites and sometimes camp on-site to keep expenses lower.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and a proficient dirt bike rider able to ride singletrack trails as needed.  The work can at times be physically demanding, so being physically fit is highly desirable.

Trail Sawyers must provide their own motorized dirt bike with current OHV decal, Trailpass decal, and USFS approved spark arrestor.  Trail Sawyers cover their own bike maintenance, travel, and fuel.

GFTBRA provides the hand tools, saws, saw mounts, training courses, and saw maintenance items as needed.

Trail Sawyers must complete first aid / CPR certification every 2 years and USFS approved Sawyer certification courses every 3 years. GFTBRA will pay for and help coordinate required training courses as needed.
