Great Falls Trail Bike Riders Association was able to work on a large multi-year project in direct partnership with Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest over the past couple weeks. USFS staff on-site included engineer and machine operator for the full 2 weeks. In addition, USFS transported equipment & materials to the worksite as needed. GFTBRA was able to provide the excavator, along with the contractor team with the trail dozer to assist in tackling phase 1 of this project in the Pierce Park area of the Little Belt Mtns.

This area is well known for it’s challenging drainage and moisture runoff problems.

USFS, GFTBRA, trail dozer, excavator, multiple operators, 13 twenty-foot sections of culverts, and 3 dump trucks full of gravel later……..phase 1 is in the books.

This is another successful partnership project between USFS and GFTBRA that will extend multiple years and result in much needed improvements to our public trails in the area.
